Jawal Shabik - meet people who share your interests and hobbies

Shabik service introduces you to a whole new world through your mobile phone.
With Shabik, you can meet people who share your interests and hobbies. You can directly chat with them, share your pictures, stories, and updates, as well as see their latest online activities including photos, stories, and updates to comment or vote. You can communicate with others through generic chat rooms, check your email, and know the latest news or weather conditions.
In addition, Shabik enables you to stay in touch with your Facebook friends and upload pictures directly from your mobile.


Personal Profile
Use this application to express yourself by sharing pictures and personal details with others. Through the privacy option, you can choose which information you would like to display to others; be it to all Shabik members, friends only, or no one.

Friends
List your friends under this menu or search for new friends by name, city, profession, interests, people online, or other means. You can view your friends who are online for chatting, sending personal messages, or giving them alerts.

Pictures
Add your favorite pictures to your personal album for others to view them and comment on them. You can share with others the photos you took using your mobile phone camera or those saved in your mobile phone’s memory. You can also view others’ albums and their latest photos.

Chatting
Communicate with others in chat rooms, view their personal details, and have online text conversations with them in specific chat rooms including entertainment, sports, literature, etc... You can also upload your mobile phone photos to share them in chats, and add a new friend for private chatting.

MessagesUse this application to send a private message to any subscriber in utmost privacy. You can also view your inbox and sent messages.

Stories
Enjoy using your mobile phone to enter blogs and comment on a story or add a new one. You can also use this application to express your mood or tell others about what you’re doing. In addition, you can view your personal stories’ menu which contains an archive of all your stories and comments.

News Application
Get to know the latest news and developments related to sports, politics, fun, arts, technology, literature, or other topics as well as your own channels. Using Shabik browser, you can view the remaining news sections directly from their original websites and be able to comment, vote, or share with friends.

Email Application
Your email is always with you wherever you are. You can view your messages immediately without the need to visit your email website, and you can answer, forward, or delete your messages.  You can easily add new email accounts since Shabik supports most of the email hosts like POP3, Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo.

Facebook
Upload pictures to your Facebook account or amend your status directly from Shabik. You will also be connected to your profile and personal alerts.

Service Fee
Monthly subscription is SR 12, in addition to the cost of JawalNet usage.
We recommend that you subscribe to one of the JawalNet packages.
Shabik Service Activation
To activate Shabik, send an empty message to 5252, and follow the instructions for activation and to download the software.

Note: Once you subscribe to Shabik, you can invite your friends to join your Shabik community for free.

Deactivation of Shabik Service
Shabik service can be deactivated by sending “cancel”  in an SMS to 5252.

Service Settings
Shabik requires a subscription to the JawalNet service. Once you subscribe to the service, we recommend that you use the high-speed 3G for better performance. Please follow one of the following to activate the 3G service.
• - Send an SMS with the name of the service (such as JawalNet) to 2222.
• - Call 902 and request the necessary settings.
Shabik service is compatible with most of the latest mobile phones such as Nokia and Sony Ericsson.

To use the service
Subscribe to the service and then download the Shabik link that will be sent to your mobile afterwards.
To download the software through the Shabik gate:
• - Go to the applications menu in your mobile then activate Shabik.
• - Start the software, click on “New Account”, and complete the registration process.
• - Once you subscribe successfully, fill in your personal profile data, then start using Shabik applications.
